F. Scott Blackburn - Chief Executive Officer

As CEO, Scott Blackburn applies his vision, leadership skills and business acumen to set the tone, pace and direction of the company. Most recently Scott served as President and CEO of CommerceQuest, a company he co-founded in 1992. Scott built CommerceQuest into an industry recognized leader of business process management software and integration solutions. Under his guidance CommerceQuest grew from a pure start up to over $37M in annual revenues. Scott was responsible for forming strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as Mercury Interactive, Tivoli, BMC Software, AT&T, Sterling Commerce, Computer Associates and IBM.

Prior to founding CommerceQuest, Scott worked at Informix as a Global Account Executive. Scott’s team paved new methods of client partnership resulting in the largest software licensing contract in Informix history. Before joining Informix, Scott worked at IBM where he was lead on a dedicated national account team. The team’s efforts resulted in over $200M annual revenue, supporting sophisticated engagements comprised of integrated hardware, software and professional services.

Scott has a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Kansas.

Dr. Basit Hussain - Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Hussain is responsible for all product and technological related functions that align around Cerebit’s core competencies and strategic direction.

Dr. Hussain has more than fifteen years experience in software technology innovation and holds patents in multiple areas. For the last eight years he has concentrated on security and business process technologies in distributed environments. Dr. Hussain has designed and implemented security systems for several Fortune 500 financial institutions. His work has included setup of PKI infrastructures, integration with directory services and application security for multiple protocols.

Dr. Hussain holds two security patents and has authored numerous security articles for leading publications. He is also an expert in the development and deployment of firewalls, VPNs and Intrusion Detection Systems.

Dr. Hussain has a Ph. D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Miami.

Frederick Duguay - Chief Financial Officer/General Counsel

Frederick Duguay, Esq. is responsible for management reporting, planning and budgeting, legal matters and corporate accounting. Fred has in-depth experience in strategy, sales, alliances, business development and operations in both well-established and successful start-up software companies. He has structured and completed complex corporate financings, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, workouts and strategic exit strategies. Fred has published articles and participated in numerous speaking events regarding venture capital transactions, intellectual property management, and software development transactions.

Prior to joining Cerebit, Fred was Managing Director of Angel Group Limited, a regional investment-banking boutique. He also served as General Counsel of CommerceQuest, Inc., a leading software integration and consulting company. Prior to that Fred was Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Technology Partners; an MIT start up, where he lead the company’s successive rounds of financing by a group of angels and the company’s subsequent successful sale in 2000. Fred has also held senior financial and management roles at KAO Info Systems, Stream International, Corporate Software & Technology, and Mosley Securities.

Fred has raised over $100 million in private venture capital and angel funding in more than 20 individual venture transactions. He has lead acquisitions and divestures both domestically and internationally in the United Kingdom, France, Republic of South Africa and Croatia. He has also participated in initial public offerings and a management led public-to-private buy out.

Fred holds a BS in Economics and Finance from University of Massachusetts, a Jurist Doctorate from Southern New England School of Law and attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduate program in Information Management Technology.

Rod Patane - Executive Vice President of Sales

As Executive Vice President of Sales, Rod is responsible for revenue generation for the company as well as establishing the sales strategy and direction. Most recently Rod served as COO of Ranger Technical Resources (RTR), an IT solution consulting company focused in the security, compliance and integration markets. As COO, Rod was responsible for growing RTR's revenue by over 200% in three years. Rod's responsibilities included management of sales, recruiting, full P & L of the company and strategic business partnerships with industry leaders such as IBM and Mercury Interactive.

Prior to RTR, Rod worked at CommerceQuest in multiple executive positions for over five years. As VP of Sales he helped guide CommerceQuest to over $37M in software and services. He also held the VP of Professional Services role where he grew the line of business by more than 300%. Before joining CommerceQuest Rod was the Sr. VP of the Southeast Region for DCI. While there he managed over $70M in consulting services and over 700 consultants in six cities. Rod built the company's largest account from 50 consultants to over 300 consultants in three years.

Rod's career began with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) after graduation from college.

Rod has a B.A. from West Virginia University.

Dave Marchand - Vice President of Product Development

Dave Marchand has over 20 years of experience architecting, implementing and deploying enterprise scale solutions.

Prior to joining Cerebit, Dave spent eleven years with Perot Systems in roles ranging from technical (CTO, Enterprise Architect) to senior management (General Manager, COO). During his tenure with Perot Systems, Dave played an instrumental role in engagements with customers in the Healthcare, Financial Services, Energy, Travel, and Telecommunications industries. His customers included Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, BlueCross BlueShield, Regional Health Information Organizations, London Clearing House, Chicago Board Options Exchange, ClearStream, AT&T, Huntington Bank, Nextlink Communications and Sabre. In addition, Dave was a principal in the development of Perot Systems’ software development methodology, best practices, service offerings, operational processes and procedures.

Prior to joining Perot Systems, Dave held numerous technical and leadership roles that resulted in the development of advanced technology solutions for Shell Oil, McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Division and General Dynamic’s Electric Boat Division.

Dave holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

Gary Davis - Vice President of Marketing

Gary Davis is responsible for developing and managing the company's corporate marketing and communications strategies. Gary oversees the positioning of Cerebit as well as communicating Cerebit's brand proposition and values. Previously, Gary was Managing Partner of Lake To Bay, a sports marketing company he founded after spending more than 15 years in high-tech marketing and business development.

Before founding Lake To Bay, Gary held executive management positions with CommerceQuest, a Tampa-based software and consulting services company for over 6 years. Most recently, Gary was Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). As CMO, Gary contributed to the business strategy and led global marketing for the Company, its products and services. Gary oversaw corporate communications, brand management, product marketing and management, the Web site, event marketing, lead management, sales support, public relations, and partner marketing. He was responsible for creating a positioning platform for the company as well as campaigns that aid awareness, interest, and adoption of CommerceQuest's offerings worldwide. During Gary's tenure the Company enjoyed a compounded annual growth rate of 45 percent.

Prior to joining CommerceQuest, Gary held senior management positions in marketing, business development and operations with companies ranging in size from venture capital-backed start-ups to Fortune 500. His experience spans companies like BMC Software, Booz, Allen & Hamilton and TelePad Corp. Gary did his undergraduate work at Wayland Baptist University and his graduate work at the University of Oklahoma.

Art Brady - Vice President of Channel Sales

Art Brady is responsible for defining and executing Cerebit’s channel strategy and partner programs. Art brings extensive experience in cultivating profitable channel relationships to Cerebit. His experience includes all aspects of channel partner sales including various distribution models, with both large and small partners. He has worked in the technology industry for more than 14 years building complex integration solutions for clients while leveraging the products and expertise of key technology partners.

Prior to joining Cerebit, Art led channel sales and marketing efforts at CommerceQuest where, as a founder, he helped the company grow from conception to a leader in the business process management and integration market. At CommerceQuest, Art developed the channel partner business to achieve, “Partner of the Year” awards from several vendors, including IBM and BMC Software. While managing the channel business, Art handled business partner selection, relationship cultivation, sales certification as well as operational controls.

Art also worked as an Account Executive at Informix and at IBM supporting National Accounts in complex software environments. Key to success in these spaces was a focused strategy to operate with other key customer vendor partners.

Art holds a B.B.A. in Finance and an M.B.A. in Marketing and Information Technology from the University of Notre Dame.
